I am excited to announce I was selected to be a part of the ABC Disney Directing Program for 2018-2020. Very grateful and honored to be part of such a fantastic program and looking forward to the great journey ahead.
I recently had the honor of directing my first Chinese language film, The Interview, for Beach Pictures, a Shanghai and U.S. based film production company. Part comedy, part social commentary, the film is an offbeat love story of sorts about a man who attempts to meet his girlfriend's parents for the first time. Before he does, the girlfriend must pass a complex and often incredulous series of questions from her mother, in what becomes, The Interview. With a terrific production team, gorgeous cinematography from DP, Eun-ah Lee, and a wonderful score from composer Sophie Lu, I am super proud of how this film came out.
Had the great opportunity to direct a wonderful film for talented actress and writer Chantal Maurice (after a successful Seed and Spark Campaign). Entitled Loreen's Gotta Boogie, the film follows the story of Loreen, a Filipina American with big dreams of dancing on Soul Train. With some visual inspiration from classic films from the 70's (including those of one of my mentors, director Michael Schultz) along with an incredibly talented diverse cast and crew, this fun film packs a simple but powerful message of hope and never giving up on one's dreams.
Been very busy the last few months directing a few projects that explore diverse facets of culture and genre. The first one is entitled The Adulterer a new series created and written by a super talented colleague of mine from New Orleans, Gian Smith. Shot locally in New Orleans (with an all N.O. crew), the smartly written and complex series explores a relationship marred by a one night stand, and the deeply embedded reasoning and consequences that follow. Part drama, part mystery, this is an intriguing project that I am very excited to be a part of.
Been awhile since last post, but a lot has been happening! The wonderful Lauren Espejo from YLWRNGR wrote a fantastic article about my film Marz. Check it out:

It's been awhile since I've updated, but rest assured a lot has been cooking in the back burner. My feature film Martian, is moving in full swing. The new name for the film is Marz, and I am very excited to announce that I recently shot a proof of concept short for it that went amazing. The footage is beautiful and I am currently in post production for it as we speak.
Stay tuned for more announcements on the progress, including BTS Stills, festival announcements and a separate website for it. Great things ahead!

We had over a thousand submissions for our initial casting! Saw and met so many amazing talented actors locally here in NYC as well as LA. One of the hardest things to do is to make a final decision with so many great choices.
Stay tuned soon as we make casting announcements, as well as casting calls for other featured roles in the film.
I am excited to announce that the pre-production of my feature film, Martian has begun. Casting for the principle cast of the two main leads are starting next week. We are accepting submissions now.
